Advertising

This site displays advertising. Ads are labelled and are served by third-party networks, which means I do not choose or approve the individual ads you see and their appearance here is not an endorsement. What ads pay for is the hosting bill and the time it takes to research the charts. The privacy policy explains the cookies involved and how to opt out of personalized ads.

Affiliate links

Some links to hooks, yarn, and other supplies are affiliate links. If you buy something after following one, I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you — the price you pay is identical either way.

Two rules I hold myself to on this:

• A commission never decides a recommendation. Where a cheaper option is the better option, the article says so.
• Affiliate links are disclosed at the top of any article that contains them, not buried at the bottom.

Illustrations and computer-generated imagery

Some diagrams and illustrations on this site are computer-generated, including with AI tools, and any page that uses them says so in the caption. They are used to show the shape of a stitch or the structure of a technique, which a diagram often does better than a photograph.

The logo and the welcome banners are computer-generated artwork. The yarn and any seasonal props pictured in the banner are decoration, not a project you are being shown how to make.

A computer-generated image is never presented as a photograph of a real finished object, and no pattern on this site describes an item that exists only as an image.

Editorial independence

Nobody pays for coverage here. This site does not accept sponsored posts, paid guest articles, or paid link insertions, and requests for them are not answered. If a company ever sends a product to test, the article will say so clearly.

Corrections

When a factual error is fixed after publication, the article's updated date changes and, where the correction is significant, a note is added explaining what changed. Reader corrections are genuinely welcome — send them through the contact page.
