Who we are
Crochet Explained publishes this site at https://www.crochetexplained.com. It is published by M. Amine. Privacy requests go through the contact page.
What this site collects
- Essential (always on): technical logs needed to serve pages (for example IP address and browser type at the host), and optional course-progress marks, project-step ticks on pattern pages, and Most read open counts stored only in your browser’s local storage — never sent to us as an account profile. Clearing your browser’s site data removes them.
- Analytics (optional): Google Analytics, only after you accept. Used to see which tutorials are read, in aggregate.
- Advertising (optional): Google AdSense and related ad cookies, only after you accept. Used to show and measure ads.
- If you email us: your address and message, kept only as long as needed to reply and fix content.
Legal bases (GDPR)
- Consent for analytics and personalized advertising — given or refused in the cookie banner on your first visit, and changeable later.
- Legitimate interests for essential hosting security and for answering emails you send us.
Cookies
Non-essential cookies and similar technologies for analytics and ads are not written until you click Accept on the banner. The Google tag and Tag Manager load with storage denied until that choice, so they do not store analytics or ad cookies beforehand. Rejecting non-essential cookies does not block reading the tutorials.
